The Craft
The huipil is a traditional woven tunic worn by Maya women throughout Guatemala—each one carrying the identity, history, and symbolism of the community it comes from. Traditionally woven on a backstrap loom, these garments are created slowly by hand, using techniques passed down through generations.
For this piece, we worked closely with artisans to reimagine the huipil through a modern lens—exploring new colorways and subtle shifts in pattern while honoring the integrity of the original form. The result is a balance of heritage and evolution: a textile rooted in tradition, designed for today.
Each piece is handwoven in small batches, with slight variations that reflect the nuance and individuality of true craftsmanship.
